Friendships and Scrubs

Girly Christmas with my Best Ladies!
Champagne, good conversation and carbohydrates (Pizza, potato skins, pie, spinach dip, fudge, sliders, and lemon bread to name a few)!

Complete Lushes.

Here’s a little Pinterest DIY Cailtin made me!

It’s bittersweet seeing my little group doing adult things like getting married, moving away, popping out babies, and scoring BIG jobs. It makes me anxious and wishing I still 19. I’m constantly avoiding the realization that life’s training wheels are never coming back and I have to handle a world that’s bigger than weekly shopping, coffee, dinner, and party dates with my friends. I honestly have the best gang of girls in all the land and I miss and appreciate them so much!
Something neat and a little less depressing….. My Godmother is actually my mom’s oldest friend from kindergarten.  Friendships are truly what you make of them.

***I'm currently at a Coffee Bean in South Pasadena and sitting across from Donald Faison AKA Turk from Scrubs! Well, at least I think so.....He's in a corner trying to be casual but there's nothing casual about the watch that's peeking out of his sleeve! I know what your thinking and no I'm not going to approach him I look homeless and he'll probably think I want his change.

NEW Traditions

Matt and I are close to mastering the whole being a little family and living together thingamajig. Infusing our different lives and traditions is exciting but I'm more interested in creating our own. I frantically texted him 2 weeks ago with something along the lines of……. "Matt, we live together and we really need our own traditions! We need them now!"  What can I say? I’m an over dramatic girl who wants magical moments and memories worth smiling about! My solution to our lack of traditions was to create a really special one for Christmas. Since our families live far apart our holidays are typically spent rushing and driving from one destination to the next. I decided that Eve Christmas would be our day to celebrate with each other. Matt is sleeping and doesn’t know this little invite is waiting for him.

Dumpster Diving!

Look at this beauty I saved from the wood chipper! I've been wanting to buy a piece like this for some time but wasn't ready to drop $130-$175 that I've seen them going for in stores! I'm excited to paint, polish, and pick up some glorious hardware to dress it up.
My heart was crushed when we realized it wouldn't fit in Matt's car. So with no other options I dropped my top and made the chilly 45min drive back to our home.
What wouldn't you do for love or free furniture??
I can't wait to share the after photos.

Beside this amazing find I spent the day tailgating in my parent's front yard, laughing over tube videos, and shit talking with my siblings.

A match made in the fluffy clouds of heaven.

Everyone at some point has dealt with the annoyance of their car breaking down but how many can say they've been rescued by a chick in glitter stilettos and shiny leggings?
 True story, I can.
Jennifer (The fashionable super hero) and I met on the 1st day of orientation and instantly became friends. We have similar goals, rock the same car, enjoy the same beverages, and shop more than anyone should. (btw, Jennifer you need to see the blue Calvin Klein dress I bought today! eeee!! It's FAB!).

On Saturday she hosted a ugly Christmas party and things got a little crazy and of course a little sloppy. I love the people I work with and that's all I'm going to share.

My niece was performing at church the next day so Matt and I crashed at my parent's. For waking up late and not showering I think we looked pretty good.

Since so many people liked this outfit I decided to give the details:
Shirt-($4) Georgiou
Leaf necklace- ($3.80) Forever 21
Skirt-$6.99 (Normally 69.99) Nordstrom Rack
I'm turning into one of those never pay full retail people and I like it!
Shoes-$128 ( from my richer past life)
My Cousin Anthony and his daughter:)

Speaking of Christmas things, Santa are you listening?
This is my grown up Christmas list........
  1.  A Crock pot
  2. The new Twilight sound track
  3. A digital Camera
  4. A gift card to Homegoods
  5. Black flats, size 7.5 please
I'm a little boring this year. Happy 10 days till Christmas everyone!

I’m all hyped up on mountain dew and coffee!

I have a final tomorrow night  for my online business law class that I have continuously emailed my teacher concerning my fear of being granted limited access to the course website and guess what ladies and gentlemen I was right! I spent the last hour writing a email on why I should be accommodated in this situation. I have saved every email we’ve exchanged and I swear I will petition his decision if he refuses. I’m going to be a relentless annoyance to this man if I don’t prevail… like that house fly that just won’t die or fly away. Now at 2am rather than sleeping I’m going over some of the most bizarre case files. I'd tell you about them but then you'd have nightmares.
I fought the law and the law……to be continued and filled in tomorrow.

It's begining to look a lot like Christmas!

I truly ADORE the holidays (especially holiday parties) and have really enjoyed decorating our place! About 6 years ago my Mom decided to purchase one large and one mini fake tree, and for those same 6 years my siblings and I have relentlessly made fun her and charged her with the crime of ruining Christmas. I have to admit I'm a huge hypocrite and nearly begged her to let me borrow this little beauty.
Cali likes it.

My brother and I back in the day. Do you dig the one slipper look?
Ho Ho HO!!
2 more days till finals are over and I'm free to eat, drink, and be Merry!

Thanks for nothing you lying liars!

My siblings and I have been feeling a little fluffy and decided to participate in another weight loss contest. Motivated by money, I’ve been eating healthy and losing weight like a BOSS. I think much of my success comes from avoiding my contenders and booby-traps. During the last contest my younger brother and his girlfriend, The Cupcake Yoda (NO one can resist her cupcakes) crept into my room during a deep mimis session (A Mexican term for sleep) and put cupcakes on my bookshelf, night stand, and even in my bed! Being weak and sugar deprived, I put those little treasures in a Tupperware and ate one each day till they were gone. I also may or may not have hung Snicker Bars from my contenders ceiling fans, haha gotcha good! Anyways, I went to Pinkberry today for the first time to get a healthy treat. I’ve avoided it for sometime because I heard rumors that their yogurt has a strong tart taste. Thanks for nothing you lying liars!!! Their new peanut butter yogurt could potentially rival all that I love and adore about Yogurt land. Not to mention that they put jelly and bread crumbs on top to complete the perfect PB&J ice cream sandwich!

I know adding toppings defeats the purpose of a healthy treat but I decided it was a better slip up than a cupcake.  I need to stay strong, the contest ends two days before we all leave to Vegas and I would love to start the weekend up 300 bucks.
Peace, love, and salads!

Dance like no one's watching

Every Sunday Matt and I cook up a scrumptious dinner, play champagne pong, and drunkenly dance in our living room ( Insert Electric feel by MGMT and some old school hip hop beats). I think you know you've hit the love lottery when your comfortable enough to completely lose yourself with another, dance like a fool, and still flirt like you've just met! In the middle of all this madness we managed to put up all of our Christmas decorations and even wrapped some gifts. Sounds like a perfect Sunday to me.
He's my love bird.

Say what?

Someone didn't hit spell check.
Valero equals cheap gas and cheaper signs.
Happy Friday!
